I believe in keeping my surroundings, thoughts, and work as simple as possible.

When designing this chair, that was my guiding principle: functional, structurally pure, and simple. I wanted a minimal take on Vitruvius’s classic triad of architecture—utilitas, firmitas, and venustas (usefulness, strength, and beauty).

Designed to make Japan’s tight corridors feel more open, its pillow-like backrest offers an ergonomic fit against the spine for refined comfort. Utilizing the elasticity of steel in a cantilever structure, the design achieves an unadorned, essential form.
 

Nothing complicated. I hope to approach every project this way.
